Skills: what unlocks them, and how you learn them
Two different things are called skills, and they unlock on two different screens. Yours live in Character › Talents: 67 nodes across 9 tiers, each tier opened by your Pathfinder Title and each node paid for with Report Cards. Your Aniimo's live in Aniimo › Skills: a skill stays greyed out until it is researched in your Aniilog, and it is researched the moment you obtain an Aniimo that already has it – then you can teach it to another Aniimo with a Common or Rare Skill Stone. 107 skills can move that way; the rest are core skills, form skills and pact skills, which are never taught at all.
67 talent nodes·107 shareable skills·49 core skills
Character › Talents: the Pathfinder tree
Every padlock on this screen is a Title away. Completing the required Elite Training courses unlocks the Title Promotion Assessment; passing it raises your Pathfinder Title, opens the next tier of the tree and raises your character level cap. Learning a node then costs Report Cards, and a node with several levels costs them again at each one.

Aniimo › Skills: teaching a skill
An Aniimo carries a handful of skills at a time, and a slot is changed rather than filled: you pick the slot, pick a skill you have already researched, and pay for it in Skill Stones. The stone tells you which kind of skill it buys, and the game sells one of the two openly.
- Open the Aniimo menu and pick the Aniimo you want to train.
- Press Learn Skill on the skill slot you want to change.
- Pick a researched skill you have unlocked – anything still greyed out has not been researched yet.
- Pay in Skill Stones: Common ones for common skills, Rare ones for rare skills.
-

How to use: Open the Aniimo menu, click on the Aniimo you want to train, click the learn skill button in the appropriate skill slot, select a researched skill you’ve unlocked, and consume skill stones to learn that skill. Rare Skill Stone

Defeat Alpha Aniimo or exploring Idol Ruins to get
Skill research: the skill is the Aniimo you catch
The Aniilog keeps a Skill Research page and a Rare Skill Research page, and the tooltip on a locked entry says the whole rule: it unlocks when you obtain an Aniimo with this skill. So the fastest way to teach a skill is to go and get the Aniimo that already knows it. 107 skills travel that way, and 59 of them exist on a single Aniimo – miss that one and the skill stays out of reach.

When research is not the answer
Three kinds of skill never appear in the learn list, however much research you do. They are not missing: they belong to the Aniimo itself.
Core skills
49 skills are the species' own core skill. They are never taught and never traded: a Prismatic Stone enhances the one the Aniimo was born with, and Alpha Aniimo are born with theirs already enhanced.
