Aniimo Discovery: Where to Find Dazmand and How to Clear the Event

Aniimo Discovery is the Polaris Institute’s two-week hunt for a brand-new Aniimo, and that Aniimo is Dazmand, a Lightning Aniimo at the Nova stage, Pomegg’s other evolution. Dazmand has no wild spawn anywhere in Idyll: during the event, the only way to meet one is the event’s own Search. This guide gives you the spot the search sends you to, the number of searches you really have, the order that unlocks the Research Center’s bonuses before you spend them, and what to do with the Thunder Soul once the event is over. It unlocks at Student II.

The short version: the fastest route

   Search from the event screen. Out in the open world, press Search: the map opens on a single spot in Rosetower Woods, where a family of Pomegg and Dazmand is waiting. Your first 3 searches of each period are free.

   Catch 3 Dazmand, then fight with one. Put a Dazmand in your team, defeat 5 Aniimo, use its skills 5 times and its Ultimate once: 7 quests in a single outing.

   Let the Research Center work. With those 8 quests done, the first two bonuses are live: Dazmand shows up 27.27% more often and a Perfect Dazmand is more likely on every search that follows.

   Secure the Elite Dazmand. Throw an Aniipod Ultra at one Dazmand: its Potential is guaranteed Elite or higher, which clears "Catch 1 Dazmand with an Elite rating or higher".

   Reach 20 Dazmand. The Perfect Dazmand Egg, then the Catch chapter's Thunder Soul, and the third bonus (Sparkling odds) for any searches you have left.

   

Before you start

The event has its own tab, Aniimo Discovery, on the game’s Events screen, from Student II. Its main screen shows Dazmand with the label Branching Evolve, the four headline rewards (Thunder Soul, Perfect Dazmand Egg, Sparkling Crystal, Tumbler), your search counter, the Search button, and two doors: Research Quest and Research Center (0/3). While a family is waiting for you, the search button tracks it instead: it reopens the map on its mark.

Check your catch level. Your title sets the highest level you can catch, and Rosetower Woods is a Lv 43–50 region. The event’s tables don’t say what level the family appears at: look at the level shown on the Dazmand before you throw, and if it is above your cap, rank up first.

For the Elite Dazmand, the Aniipod Ultra does all the work: “A rare Aniipod that guarantees successful Aniimo capture. The Potential rating of the caught Aniimo will be at least Elite.” The game lists it from: Complete the Elite Training program quests · Glimmer Purchase · Shop Purchase · Item Exchange.

Where the search sends you: the west of Rosetower Woods

The event’s Search button does not scatter Dazmand across Idyll. It opens your map on one fixed mark, Aniimo Discovery, in the west of Rosetower Woods (the Lv 43–50 region), about 160 m north of the Rosetower Woods teleport array. The mark’s own text says so: “After searching, a large number of target Aniimo were found here. Come quickly to investigate!”

You have to be in the open world to search (“Please head out to the open world to search”). What waits on the mark is a family: the game announces “Discovered a Dazmand family.” Each Aniimo in it is drawn from two species, Pomegg at weight 70 and Dazmand at weight 30, so expect about two Pomegg for every Dazmand. The search table also carries its own Sparkling rate, 1 in 10,000, twice Dazmand’s base rate of 1 in 20,000.

Save your Tumblers for these families: “An extremely rare Aniipod. Roll it along and it catches any Aniimo it passes, at twice the usual catch rate, or six times the rate on Aniimo drawn together by nurturing.”, and the event hands you 12 of them. And don’t release the Pomegg: once you hold the Thunder Soul, each one can become a Dazmand (see after 9 October).

20 searches over four periods, 12 of them free

Each period gives you 5 searches: “Remaining Searches: 5/5 (First 3 are free)”. The first 3 cost nothing; the last 2 cost 1 Vein Essence each. A period’s free searches are lost when the next one opens (“Unused free search attempts cannot be accumulated, so please remember to use them in time.”), so spend your 3 free ones before each reset. Over the four periods that is 20 searches: 12 free and 8 for Vein Essence.

Starting late?

A period that has gone does not come back, and neither do its free searches. Here is what is left depending on when you start:

The 12 quests stay open until 9 October: what limits you is how many Dazmand you meet on the way to 20 catches. Starting late is one more reason to switch on the Research Center’s first two bonuses right away.

The Research Center: bonuses you unlock with quests

The event’s second screen, the Research Center, turns your Research Quests into search bonuses, with the “bonus applied in real time”, kept until the event ends. It has three topics, unlocked in order, and each one uses up 4 finished Research Quests: the first bonus after 4 quests, the second after 8, the third after all 12.

The fourth tile, Full Investigation, is a shared progress bar: “All Pathfinders who chose the same Aniimo can drive research progress by catching a Dazmand, a Dazmand with a special trait, or a Sparkling Dazmand.”

The 12 Research Quests and their rewards

The quests sit on the event’s Research Quest screen, in three chapters. Each quest pays once; finishing a whole chapter pays a chapter reward on top (“Complete all quests in this investigation.”). The Catch Aniimo chapter is the one that pays the Thunder Soul.

The Aniimo Trials and Aniimo Companions chapters are done in combat, with Dazmand in your team. It is a Lightning Aniimo at the Nova stage, and its special trait, Spotlight Moment, makes the first skill it uses on entering battle cost no EP. Its Ultimate, Lightning Storm, is the skill “Use Dazmand’s Ultimate 1 time” asks for.

Where to do the combat quests

The quest screen says “Defeat 1 Aniimo with Dazmand in your team”, but the event’s own task list words it “Defeat 1 Aniimo while Dazmand is deployed”. So keep Dazmand on the field when the Aniimo goes down.

In Rosetower Woods, the family’s Pomegg are neutral targets right under your feet. Skip the area’s Ice and Earth Aniimo, which resist Lightning, and the ones that hit Dazmand hard.

After 9 October: the Thunder Soul and Pomegg

When the event ends, the families go with it (”……”), and Dazmand has no wild spawn on any map. Two rewards keep it in your game:

• The Perfect Dazmand Egg (20 catches): “Guaranteed to hatch into a Dazmand with Perfect potential.” Hatch the egg in the Outpost Hatchinators and Home Hatchinators.
• The Thunder Soul (the Catch Aniimo chapter’s reward): “Earned in the ‘Aniimo Discovery’ event. Holds the spirit of a Dazmand elite, enabling Dazmand’s branching evolution.” It is the condition of Pomegg’s second evolution: at Aniimo level 25, with 1 Roar Stone, a Pomegg becomes a Dazmand instead of a Pomawk. Pomegg lives in Rosetower Woods and 5 other regions, so the Pomegg you catch in the families are your future Dazmand.

Where do you find Dazmand in Aniimo?

Only through the Aniimo Discovery search, 25 September to 9 October: it opens your map on the Aniimo Discovery mark in the west of Rosetower Woods. After the event, hatch the Perfect Dazmand Egg or evolve a Pomegg with the Thunder Soul.

How do you evolve Pomegg into Dazmand?

Aniimo level 25, 1 Roar Stone, and the Thunder Soul from the Catch Aniimo chapter. Without it, Pomegg can only become Pomawk (Aniimo level 25, 1 Sprout Stone).

Can Dazmand be Sparkling?

Yes: the search’s Sparkling rate is 1 in 10,000, and Sparkling Secrets raises it once all 12 quests are done.

How do you get a Perfect Dazmand?

The Perfect Dazmand Egg (20 catches) is guaranteed Perfect, and Potential Secrets raises the chance of meeting one during searches.

Can you search from anywhere?

No: “Please head out to the open world to search” The family always appears on the same mark in Rosetower Woods.

What happens to the families when the event ends?

They vanish with the event, on 9 October at 03:59 server time. Catch your Dazmand before that, then rely on the Perfect Dazmand Egg and the Thunder Soul.

What is Vein Essence for in this event?

Searches 4 and 5 of each period: 1 Vein Essence per search, once the 3 free ones are used.
