What’s official about Inferlupa

Straight from the official index:

Two ways for Flameruff to evolve

Flameruff doesn’t have one further evolution, it has two, and the game keeps them apart. Left on its own (or fed the default material), it becomes Scorchhowl, a separate creature already on this site. Reaching Inferlupa instead is the alternate path, and it needs all four of the following at once:

The quest flag is literal. Warrior is a Voyage-log quest in Beast Fang Ridge, built around finding and finally beating a named individual the log calls the Inferlupa, and the evolution screen sums it up in one line: “Witness how extinguished fighting spirit is reignited.” It is also the quest that opens Beast Fang Ridge’s leg of the Fragrant Journey, so its full day-by-day walkthrough lives on that guide.

Unbroken Flameruff Spirit doubles as one of Inferlupa’s own skill names, so the six copies you farm along the way are quite literally the fight teaching you what the creature becomes. Night Stone is the line’s Dark-element material; nothing else is spent.

Icho and the Alpha Scorchhowl aren’t this quest, they’re the other one

You will see an NPC named Icho and a boss called the Alpha Scorchhowl attached to this quest in other guides. Both are real, they just belong to the other evolution. Flameruff’s other path, into Scorchhowl rather than Inferlupa, has its own separate unlock: “Defeat the Alpha Scorchhowl,” for 1 Blaze Stone, with two field variants at level 20, one in Russet Highlands, one in Beast Fang Ridge by day. Icho is that individual’s own name: a wild Alpha Scorchhowl that answers to Dr. Lewis, the same Dr. Lewis who calls you mid-way through Warrior, found under the giant tree at the westernmost side of Beast Fang Ridge during a Prismana Flow, which you can raise yourself by returning enough Lumin Amber to a Branch. Same region, same researcher, two different Aniimo to chase. The Warrior quest that actually unlocks Inferlupa never names Icho, Alpha Scorchhowl, or a boss of any kind beyond the Inferlupa itself.

Two myths you will still see

Neither of these exists in Aniimo:

• “+4 Crit Rate” / a “Crit Rate” stat : Aniimo has no Crit stat; the six are HP / BREAK / ATK / P.DEF / M.DEF / REGEN.
• “Epic” rarity : there’s no rarity grade on Aniimo; the index sorts by element, role and stage only.
